To say Manny Pacquiao’s acting career has been bad would be an understatement. None of his movies have panned out to be a success so far. He has had some moderate success as a guest on some TV and talk shows but that has been the extent of his accomplishments. One of his more comical projects is a sitcom Show Me Da Manny that did not complete an entire season. He has a more serious project in the works as Sylvester Stallone is in talks with Pacquiao over a role in one of Stallone’s upcoming films.
Pacquiao’ssinging career has had some success in terms of sales but this has been attributed to his prior fame in the Philippines due to his boxing career. As a result the actual quality of his singing has been subject to much criticism. He has released two albums titled Laban Nating Lahat Ito and Pac-Man Punch with the second being the less successful of the two. It is unclear if he will record any future albums.
Manny Pacquiao began his political career in 2007 when he announced that he would run for a seat in the House of Representatives as a member of the Philippine Liberal Party. He lost handily to the incumbent who commented “More than anything, I think, people weren’t prepared to lose him as their boxing icon”. Pacquiao later decided to again run for a congressional seat but in a different province where his wife grew up. He merged his political party and ideology with the Nacionalista Party prior to his election. He won in a landslide and beat a member of a family that had held the seat for over thirty years. His stances in Congress have primarily been to try to more public works projects to his province. He has endorsed Mitt Romney in the upcoming U.S. election which can give you an idea of his political views.
